31st - Morning visit, 1 Common Sandpiper on approach road mud.On the scrape 1 LRP, 1 Dunlin, 7 Snipe, around the fences were 4 Wheatears,2 Whinchats and 1 Little Owl.Good numbers of hirundines moving south with 150+ Swallows and 30+ House Martins noted.GG. Afternoon birds were 1 Hobby, 1 juvenile Marsh Harrier, 11 Wigeon, 1 Dunlin, 5 Snipe, 1 Curlew, warbler number continue to be low, best being 7 Lesser Whitethroats.GG/KA.  

30th - 2 Hobbies, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Dunlin, 8 Snipe, 4 Wigeon, 150+ Teal. PRD. 2 Spotted Redshanks reported

29th - Late morning visit produced 2 LRP's, 2 Ruff, 8 Snipe, Teal numbers increasing now 120+, few Wigeon, also 1 Wheatear. SC.

28th - Very quite this evening during a short visit, only 1 Blk T Godwit, 2 Snipe, 1 Curlew, 7 Wigeon and a single Wheatear. KA. 

27th - Birds on the scrape this evening were 1 Wood Sandpiper, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Ruff, 2 Snipe, 1 Curlew and 5 Wigeon. KA  

25th - 1 Spotted Flycatcher along the approach road this morning and a Pied Flycatcher at the toilet block bushes. JBS.Also a single Wood Sandpiper on the scrape and 7 Wheatears present. JBS. Early evening the scrape held 2 Avocets. JBS.

24th - Mid morning on the scrape were the 7 Wigeon, 3 Blk T Godwits, 1 Dunlin, Snipe, Barn & Little Owl. KA. Evening visit produced a female/Imm Pied Flycatcher along the approch road also increased numbers of commoner warblers, scrape very quite.JBS

23rd - On the scrape early this morning were the first returning Wigeon 7 of, 4 Blk T Godwits, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Grey Plover, 2 Dunlin and a Sandwich Tern, at sea 9 Common and 3 Sandwich Terns, 4 Knot, 3 Gannets (1 juv), 2 Dunlin all flew N. GG.Afternoon vistit produced 1 Ruff, 3 Common Sandpipers, 3 Sandwich Terns and the Barn Owl was again present, at sea 2 Arctic Terns, 1 Gannet, 1 Grey Plover, 4 Golden Plover, 3 Sandwich & 1 Common Tern all flew NE. KA/JBS/GG. 

22nd - A short seawatch produced a Pomaraine Skua, 4 Grey Plover, 2 Common Terns, 1 Sandwich Tern. SC/PC

20th - Reported today were 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Dunlin, 1 Golden Plover, 1 Snipe, both Barn and Little Owl. PB/VB

19th - On the scrape this morning were 4 Green & 1 Common Sandpiper, 3 Redshanks, 2 Snipe, 2 Blk T Godwits, 1 Dunlin and 2 Golden Plovers flew SW. 7+ Whinchats showing well along the fenced area.GG. Afternoon saw the arrival of some "decent birds" in the form of 14 Curlew Sandpipers, all moulting adults, additionally 1 Greenshank. PRD/CJ. In the evening the Green Sandpiper counts were up to 8. KA

18th - Disappointing morning with only 2 Blk Wits, 2 Redshanks and 3 Sandwich Terns on the scrape. At sea a Great Crested Grebe flew SW and a single Sandwich Tern NE.GG. Afternoon visit produced 3 juvenile Ruddy Shelducks, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Snipe, 1 Ringed Plover, 9 Whimbrel flew SW.Sandwich Terns increased to 10 also a single Common Tern. At sea an immature Gannet flew NE, 4 Grey Plover S. PRD/KA/JBS/GG.

17th - Fly throughs today were 2 Marsh Harriers, 1 juvenile and a probable 2nd summer male, also a Grey Plover flew SW. The scrape held 1 Little Egret, 2 Common Sandpipers, 5 Dunlin, 3 Blk T Godwits, 3 Golden Plover, 2 Snipe and 4 Sandwich Terns (2 juvs). 7 Whinchats and 2+ Wheatears were showing around the fenced area's.GG/KA.

15th - Birds reported for today were, 1 Turtle Dove, 1 Green & 2 Common Sandpipers, 2 Sandwich Terns (1 juvenile), 1 Snipe and 1 Ringed Plover. KA/PRD. 

14th - Quiet this morning with only 1 Wood Sandpiper, 1 Green,1 Common,1 Dunlin and 5 Snipe. A group of 42 Swifts flew SW. GG.

13th - Not much change this morning with 1 Wood Sandpiper, 2 Green and 2 Common Sandpipers, juv Ruff, 8 Snipe, 1 Blk T Godwit. 3 Wheatears along the sea wall.GG.  Additional afternoon birds were 1 Greenshank, 1 Whimbrel, a juvenile Little Owl. GG/KA. Also 2 Whinchats. SC/PC/KA/GG.

12th - Afternoon birding found the scrape holding 1 Wood Sandpiper, 2 Green and 2 Common Sandpipers, 4 Snipe, juvenile Ruff, 4 Whimbrel flew SW, an adult female Marsh Harrier flew through and a Cuckoo was also seen. PRD.

11th - A visit between 0800-0930 hrs produced 4 Common, 2 Green Sandpiper, 4 Snipe, 1 Ringed Plover, 2 Sandwich Terns, 1 Turtle Dove by the sewage works and an adult Reed Warbler feeding 3 newly fledged young. AD. 

10th - Evening visit produced 2 Common, 2 Green Sandpiper and 3 Dunlin. KA. It appears the wind pump has a fault as its turning but the lower part of the pump looks detached.

9th - Very quite with just 2 Common and 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Dunlin and a Curlew.Water levels are starting to rise with the help of the wind pump.KA.

8th - The wind pump was started today, hopefully this will re oxygenate the scrape water and save any remaining carp. Birds seen were 2 Green  and 2 Common Sandpipers, 1 Ruff, 1 Blk T Godwit, 1 Snipe and a Little Owl. KA.

7th -  With the scrape drying out the number of birds are reducing, today's sightings were  2 Green and 3 Common Sandpipers, 1 Blk T Godwit, 2 Snipe and 3 Ringed Plovers. A Whimbrel dropped in but quickly departed. Low water levels are also having an effect on the fish, with 6 sizeable carp dead. KA/JBS  

6th - The 2 Wood Sandpipers were noted, also 5+ Green and 2 Common,5 LRP's, at sea 3 Common Scoter and a single Common Tern flew through.SC. Additoinal birds were 1 Greenshank, 1 Ruff, 3 Blk T Godwits, 1 Dunlin, 15+ Snipe dropped in and a fly through juvenile Marsh Harrier.GG/PB/KA.

5th - Early morning, again the 2 Wood Sandpipers were present, with 8 Green and 2 Common. Snipe mumbers up to 12+, also 5 LRP's all juveniles, 1 Ruff, 1 Greenshank, 7 Blk T Godwits, 8 Redshank and a fly through Whimbrel.The beach held 3 Wheatear and 2 Common Terns flew SW. GG A dark phase Arctic Skua flew SW mid morning. AD.

4th - Sandpipers are still the main passage waders with 2 Wood, 5 Green, and 2 Common also 4 LRP's, 1 Greenshank, 1 Ruff, 8 Blk T Godwits, 2 Snipe and 7 Redshank. A sign of movement with 10+ of both Wheatear and Yellow Wagtails. PRD/AD

3rd - 2 Wood Sandpipers still there, with 1 Ruff, 1 Greenshank, 2 Snipe, 1 Blk T Godwit, 3 Redshank and 20+ Dunlin. KA. Later additions were, 5 Green and 3 Common Sandpipers, 3+ LRP's, 4 Ringed Plovers also increases in Dunlin (30+) and Blk T Godwits (8). JBS.

2nd - Sandpipers present were 2 Wood, 5 Green and 3 Common, also 1 Greenshank, 3 LRP's, 1 Ringed Plover, 40+ Dunlin and a 2nd summer Med Gull. JBS

1st - Midday, A Curlew Sandpiper was found, also present 2 Wood Sandpipers and 2 Common, 1 Greenshank, 2 Ruff, 30+ Dunlin, 5 Blk T Godwits, 3 Snipe, 5 Redshanks.KA.
